The Federal Trade Commission and U.S. Department of Justice finalized new merger guidelines Monday, reflecting the agencies’ more stringent approach toward approving corporate acquisitions and placing greater emphasis on protecting workers and labor markets affected by the consolidations.
The guidelines call for regulators to examine whether a merger will dilute competition for workers.
